Holy Kingdom of Carvaan (Car-ven)

Leadership:   The King of the Kingdom is descended from a long line that can trace it's ancestry to the first Hero of Panne, who started the Holy Kingdom's conquest of this land.  The family has progressed unbroken as of yet and the kingship is patrilineal with the second sin becoming the King, and the first devoting themselves to the All-Church to prove the royalties fealty to Panne. The King's advisors are all members of the All-Church and usually high ranking ones at that. The King's elder brother is a common choice for the First Vizier, the person who will rule as regent if the King is ever indisposed.     Punishment:   The criminal system is somewhat severe, though criminals who have received a life sentence are given an option to redeem themselves serving the Kingdom's Crusades. Those who decide to take the option are known as the Judged, the surviving members are seen as having been judged not guilty or worthy of continuing their lives. The Judged are a group of irregular soldiers, given not much more than the bare minimum arms and armor and sent in at the front lines of the Crusades. Despite the harsh conditions several criminals, usually socio- or psychopaths, grow to love being Judged and ask to stay on. Those who stay on are often given better arms and armor, and sometimes become folk-heroes to the commoners for their deeds in the crusades.  Those criminals who do not join the Judged are made to work in the prisons camps, during wartimes they are made to make weapons and armor and during peacetimes they make    All-Church:   The All-Church is the main religion of The Kingdom of Carvaan. They follow the Goddess Panne. They believe that Panne is the only Goddess in Merein and the other divine beings are simply Panne in other guises, and as such are being tricked. This has resulted in the Kingdom of Carvaan having two major biases, they look down on the followers of of other deities as foolish and, as the only ones that are chosen by Panne to worship her they must be the chosen people to inherit the world and the people in their way are heretics and should be eliminated. The recent divinations that are saying to be ready and champions will be needed have caused the Kingdom to step up it's regular crusade preparations.   Crusades:   The Kingdom of Carvaan is constantly sending sorties into other countries they call Crusades.  The purpose of these Crusades is to show others that the Goddess Panne has chosen them, the victories are proof of that, and that they should join the Kingdom and follow the All-Church.

Peaceful, Welcoming

As the only other people who are as religious as themselves the people of The Kingdom are very welcoming to Yuan-ti and, while they find them silly for only devoting themselves to one part of Panne and denying the others, they are welcome in the Kingdom. The Kingdom would come to the aid of the Yuan-ti in conflict.

Peaceful, Mercantile

The People of the Kingdoms often hire Clans from the Plains as mercenaries to attack the Republic in deniable raids and use them to test the defenses, but otherwise the Plainsmen are seen as somewhat primitive and savage.

Peaceful, Suspicious

The People of the Kingdom used to enjoy peaceful relations with the Empire but since they cut themselves off from the rest of Merein the Kingdom has come to wonder what exactly they've been doing with the time and is staring to get suspicious.  With so few traders allowed past the barrier and all unmilling, or unable, to expound on the situation the Kingdom gets more and more suspicious that they are doing something blasphemous.

Tense, War is always around the corner

Tense relations but a peace treaty has been signed and followed for nearly than 200 years. A war may spark at any time and will certainly be caused by the Holy Kingdom of Carvaan as the Republic is more defensive in nature.
