The Wandering Tribes

Although many orcs have integrated into the multi-racial societies of Merra, some remain in isolated nomadic tribes. These orcs are usually more violent than their city and village dwelling cousins and they take pride in their martial skills and physical strength.
The race of orcs originates from the Eastern Continent, and in ages past they conducted raids and even large scale invasions across Merra. Though most tribes were ultimately beaten back by local resistance or greater alliances of various races, each time a small number of orcs stayed (or were captured), and in the decades and centuries these became part of Merrian society and even introduced half-orcs.   Later, these civilised orcs would be seen as valuable fighters in places such as Fiumri and Dezaria but although the overt discrimination against them reduced, they are still not declared under the Merrian Racial Accords.
Though clans are vary in size and infamy, here are the most well known:
  • Aur: The Aur tribe roams Dezaria and are known to be friendly with the local populace. They are distinct in that they include non-orcs in their tribes, with the the current husband of the clan leader being human. In times past, they have aided Dezarians against a variety of threats and so are given freedom in their nomadic travels across the less populated areas of Dezaria.
  •
  • Grenskys: These orcs hail from Juntland are not only known for their jade-green skin and shortness compared to other orcs, but also their cruelty and violence. They generally fight for dominance of Juntland against the giants that are so prevalent in the region, but have in the past worked together with their usual enemy to make raids into the Arborian Kingdom, Fiumri and Dezaria.
  •
  • Goh'bah: The only known sentient inhabitants of Deathsea. Tall and wiry orcs, they have managed to somehow survive in the desolate desert. Few folk from Merra are brave or crazy enough to venture into Deathsea, and so little is known about the Goh'Bah.
  •
  • The S'vajhe: This orc tribe from The Eastern Continent (the Dark East) is documented into elvish history, for their incursions into Merra were considerable and they frequently worked with the Helstraad Empire, overseen by The Cabal Aeternus. The S'vajhe are noted to be the most powerful and fearsome orc clan in recorded history, although it has been a millennia since they have been seen in Merra, given that Merra and the Eastern Continent now are divided by Deathsea and the Godsrange Mountains. Given the time since they have last been seen, historians dispute that they even exist anymore.
