Alfer

The Alfer are considered some of the first elves ever to set foot on the known world, however scholars tend to debate the legitimacy of this claim on account of the Chinderin, their ancestors of the void, were said to of sailed into the world mere moments after its creation. The going theory being that the Alfer were the group who remained behind in the void only to enter the world once the Niene Comet crashed into the southern regions of the known world. The split with the Chinderin in the north and Alfer in the south makes it mostly impossible to determine who emerged first.   They have a natural fondness for being worshipped and often subject the poor to torture for entertainment.  A likely trait they developed from toying with their prey to tire it out without harming themselves, with it then evolving into a sadistic pleasure of the people. These psychopathic tendencies are typically less common among the common folk, who have adapted to survive rather than to rest upon a throne.
