The name Skaal was given to them by their divine parents the dragons. It translates directly to small scale in the common tongue.
They were born as eggs being carried by dragons flying through the sky. They landed in Jultren with the words of their gods Hydra that the rest of the world is filled with chaos so appreciate this sanctuary. Peace wasn't present with a great many wars that took place, this left ruins everywhere. After getting into a dark age peace started to form as tribal life was adopted. Eventually, the Huikliis arrived, and spoke of the foul beasts of Shesire's creation, the Ashen. Through their knowledge and guidance of Marduh war broke out becoming known as the War of the Flying Baron.

Appearance

They are humanoids with scales all over, the chest and sections such as inner thighs, stomachs and similar spaces remained with a softer scale in a slightly different tone. The scales could come in a multitude of colours depending on their dragonic parent. The eyes appear like that of a goat with tones similar to their scales but just a bit duller and lighter. Most don't grow hair, but those with a more radiant affinity typically grow manes. Most have horns in some form, generally mimicking the divine closely connected with their skin tone. They are a head taller than the Mirran.
Most don't wear clothes as their scales protect them from the harsh environments of the continent. But the shaman wears an assortment of robes and necklaces.

They mostly feast on insects and mangrove roots, but the diet may vary depending on where they are found.

Naming Traditions

They traditionally don't have surnames but rather tribe names. They have names given to them by the shaman of the tribe, this name is only to be used by members of the tribe or very close individuals. When addressing people outside of the tribe they refer to themselves as the tribe name.

Major Organizations

They officially don't have an empire, but many have joined the Huikliis in the Draakter kingdom.

Their main language consists of Skale which has a great many dialects with one been used to commune with the Huikliis.
