Witchfinder
Witchfinders are also called witch hunters, mage slayers, curse trackers, and if in holy circles paladins.
This profession isn't an easy path, with most taking up the role either due to past trauma or as a motivation to make the world a better place.
Unlike mercenaries hired to hunt specific known practitioners of the occult arts, Witchfinders are trained specifically for this role and are licensed under the World Alliance Against Sorcery.
This license is registered in almost every country within the known world giving the Witchfinfers full access to find, locate and execute these fowl practitioners.
Witchfinders are found in multiple different organizations across the known world, the Nienelirn of the south, the Thorned Rose of the Sembar desert, and the Stoic of Creeh within the north.
The nature of their job causes them occasionally to be hired out to travel across a multitude of countries into remote or faraway places to conclude their occult searches.
Career
Qualifications
New Witchfinders are to study as assistants to a mentor Witchfinder who will teach them first-hand all the details of how to track, test and pursue the occult.
A level of combat effectiveness is common, although not required.
Once the mentor has given their approval of skill, the apprentice is allowed to return to one of the organizations that are licensed under the World Alliance Against Sorcery, where they will be appointed the qualifications of Witchfinder.
Some organizations require extra qualifications, such as the Stoic of Creeh who require those joining to be worshippers of the Totems.
Payment & Reimbursement
They work primarily off commission, getting hired by a king or wealthy noble to track the source of the occult threat.
They earn a lot but don't take many jobs throughout their lifetime compared to a mercenary.
It is also common for the one hiring them to supply them with food, accommodations and the materials needed during the search.

As licensed Witchfinders, they are granted extensive authority and access to pursue, locate, and confront those who engage in dark sorcery and forbidden practices. Their license ensures that they have the legal mandate to take decisive action against these nefarious individuals, safeguarding the realms from their malevolent influence.
