Ferythœria

Ferythœria is the most untamed region of Nordræt. In the east, the Wood Elves and Goblins live in a state of near constant warfare. In the west, Idish and Gnomish clans rule small holdings, carving out a portion of the wilderness to claim as their own.

Geography

Ferythœria is predominantly covered with coniferous forests, bounded on the west by the mountains of The Northern Dwarfholds, and in the east by the sea. In the East, there is a small mountain range.

History

From the earliest days, these lands were dominated by Goblin tribes. Although various empires claimed these lands, they never tamed them nor drove the Goblins out of the lands. During the Stonelands Migration, gnomes pushed from the Steypel Mountains settles in the western forests, beginning a long period of war between the gnomes and goblins. Later during the Methyan Migration, Elves from Laingelaidh and the displaced Idish tribed moved into the region, forcing the Goblins down towards the sea. The Elves established the kingdom of Ferythœr, from which comes the regions name.

With the elves and goblins locked in a near constant state of warfare, the Idish and Gnomish clans were left to develop with little outside influence. The history of these clans is one of shifting alliances and raids against enemies, although rarely a state of open warfare. Most recently, the elves of Ferythœr have developed a military and trade alliance with the Idish tribes - whom they called collectively the nation of Idir - to better combat the goblin horde. This has led to a decrease in the isolation of Idir and Tyllaubrynia, and they have begun to make diplomatic overatures to the neighboring nations of The Northern Dwarfholds and Fyrstavorn.
