Reminiscence
A realm that has seen its fair share of catastrophes, and has quite the history.
Littered with old ruins and technology.
General
Remniniscene one of the most well-known Dvallh Realms in all of Alézun'Teran and is one of the most expansive of its kind, only presumed to be below the Wilds of Creastvkr. It shares several characteristics with the Wilds but also stand on its on in certain ways.
It is regularly explored by adventurers and scholars, as well as smugglers and hunters, and it is said that there has and always will be at least one soul wandering across its various landscapes. Be it either through an ancient forested jungle, a scorching desert, a high mountain range or a grand canyon. Perhaps even across a wast glacier or an ocean.
Governed by Remniza
When it comes to the similarities between it and the Wilds, Remniniscene is overseen not by Servita or a Predecence but by an Oraltihon: An intelligent natural force that personifies a geographical location.
The one that governs Reminiscence — known by some as Remniza — rarely shows itself to the average explorer but is said to lend subsequent aid to those who have found themselves on its lands.
Its appearance is primarily that of a female humanoid with ebony-dark skin, snow-white long hair, and blue sapphire eyes. Usually dressed in exotic clothing consisting of leather, silk, and gold.
Calamaties abroad
Ssimilar to the Wilds and other Realms across Alézun'Teran, Reminiscence was affect to by the Scorching and the Great Sorrow. More so than most, quite a few would say.
What once was a hospitable realm, home to several ancient and young civilizations is now unfortunately largely inhospitable by most criteria, littered with the ruins of once-proud cultures. Dangers of old have become elevated and the new ones have risen up to torment even the most hardened warriors in their sleep.
Elemental Eruptions
One new danger — new in the sense that it is 6 millennia — is the Elemental Eruptions: Concentrated energy of primal elemental forces that spontaneously manifest above ground like bubbles of air on an ocean surface, while a drowning man gasps for air beneath the waves. Some of these might hold for countless years, while most burst within either minutes or hours, releasing the very building blocks that Reminiscence is made out of in a violent display.
The aftermath is a ravaged landscape scorched by fire, ice, and lightning. The ground around it has become upheaved like the waters in a stormy ocean, and radiant red flowers made out of stainless steel have grown out of the cracks.
Petrification Storms
"It is said that, before the Great Sorrow, that downpour would be merely a light prickle that covered the ground in a porous bone-like material, and which caused edible plants to sprout up over the course of a few weeks.
One of the old dangers that have become elevated is known as Petrification Storms. The buildup is similar to an ordinary storm, except for the fact that it will appear to draw strong gusts of wind towards it and the color of the clouds slowly becomes similar to golden honey.
As it draws past — at speeds that are about 10 to 15 kilometers per hour — it will bath the area beneath it in dark shadow. Too dark to be naturally occurring, as it will practically turn day into night. The heavy downpour of rain it releases is said to be so cold it burns the skin and it will gleam with a faint white shade. And beyond that, it will quickly begin to harden into a material that is similar to a calcium mineral.
The aftermath of the storm is a landscape that appears to have been turned into hardened bone, and one would need quite a few pickaxes and more than a handful of swings to crack it apart. Any Melathi Species that is not native to Reminiscence that is caught in the storm will be considered lost unless measures are taken to either free specimens immediately after, or if one seeks proper shelter beforehand.
A few hours afterward, the bone will melt like ice and be drawn into the soil, causing an explosion of plant growth, most of which is either poisonous or will rot away after a few days.
Cultivated by Ancient Civilization
Dissimilar to the Wilds, Reminiscene experienced being cultivated by various civilizations over the course of countless millennia prior to the events of the Great Sorrow.
Not only were fields worked on to grow food, but farm animals grazed its grassy plains. Cities and villages naturally sprung up, with a rare few of the former even being close to the influence of Varldstan Yleneas.
One of the civilizations that had prominent influence on both a cultural and political level across not only Reminiscence but all of Alézun'Teran, was the Vhaigur Civilization, which — among other things — spearheaded the Vhaigur-Tech.
Littered with Ruins ...
A consequence of this all is that in the aftermath of the Great Sorrow, nothing was left but ruins, some in worse condition than others. Some of which have deep underground complexes or are built so high you cannot see its highest tower.
Palaces that had been home to wealthy and influential merchants became inhabited by fauna such as weasels and lizards. Some of these ruins were also affected by various reality altering effects caused by Scorched Radiation, becoming either death traps or mild curiosities.
... And ancient technology
Subsequently, primarily due to the collapse of the Vhaigur Civilization, one may also stumble upon remnants of ancient Vhaigur-Tech. Most of it is no longer of use and has either deteriorated due to rust, depleting energy banks, overload of engines or uncontrollable growth of volt crystal. The rare examples that are still in somewhat working order usually have a risk of exploding in greedy adventurers' faces and need to be handled with extreme care. Most of it is seen with merely mind curiosity by scholars though, as Vhaigur-Tech has become more refined since the collapse.
