Utrustica

The ability of the Anishans to create that which is in conjunction with their Theme and Likseh.
To create a sword or a high tech plasma rifle.

Utrustica is the renowned ability of the Anishans to manifest apparel and tools that are deeply attuned to their metaphysical and abstract nature; especially in regards to their Alignments.

Unique in Nature

It is an ability that, by its very nature, is unique to each Anishan. At the very least in regards to which tools and apparel that can be manifested, as well as what type of color and style they are and the apparent materials they are made from.
That does not mean there are no similarities between Anishans' Utrustica. In fact, there are usually quite a few between them that many overlook and just take for granted. This is due to the shared similarities between the Likseh and Thematic Nature between specimens.
One good example of this is the Theme of Mestell-22C-WL, which concerns the appearance of both tools and apparel and is arguably one of the most common Themes among Anishans. It stands for Mésvéstell 22 Century Western Lands; in short, it merely concerns that which is similar in style to what can be found at this time and locale in Mésvéstell Prime; a time which is also known as the Unknown Horizons Era.

Utrustica & Ani Force

To utilize Utrustica one needs to draw forth power from that which connects all Anishan, both living and dead: The Force of Ani, an abstruse existential subforce of Sereoth.

Ataeru — The source reserve

Each Anishan has a personal metaphysical source reserve of the Force of Ani, known among their kin as Ataeru. One can compare it to a wellspring from which one may get water. Quite similar to the Kaldrbrunnr Theory and the concept of the Sálfrod in fact, though it is still a matter of debate whether there lies a solid connection there or not.
The size of the Ataeru is said to be sizable enough to allow for at least one full Utrustica summoning, at least initially: With time, as well as through physical and mental training, the size of Ataeru will steadily grow, allowing for faster replenishing and less effort in regards to utilization. Something that, in the beginning, is demanding enough to possibly make one faint from exhaustion, will at one point be no less tiring than carrying a hefty sack of potatoes up a flight of stairs.

Limitless in Theory
Limited in Practice

That which can be manifested utilizing Utrustica is quite limitless, at the very least in theory. It has all to do with whichever Themes and Likseh that are connected to them, along with their pool of Ani Force. Thusly, Anishans' utilization of Utrustica in practice is initially quite limited.

Going beyond the limit

Going beyond one's limits is possible but it takes time and effort. The end result, however, will be an Anishan that is able to manifest a wide range of apparel and an assortment of tools that goes beyond their Theme and Likseh. Nonetheless, it is important to remember that what is difficult for some Anishans is easy for others.

Celestia, Strained by their Theme

The Celestia Anishan are — to the surprise of many — in fact those that have the greatest difficulty going beyond their limits, despite their overall greater connection to the Force of Ani. It is doable but is something that appears to be against their core nature, and as such has a risk of breaking their essence. This can both be done of their own free will, as well as being forced upon them, something that the Cult of Lamatshu have discovered and exploited.

Tarrem, Liberated by their Ambiguity

In contrast to the Celestia Anishan, the Tarrem Anishan are quite capable of going beyond their initial limits, and with not too much struggle either. This is believed to be due to the fact that their Theme and Likseh are not as well-defined as their stronger kinsmen.
They do have a limit though but it is rarely reached, but when it is, the same experience will break them just as much as it will break the Celestia Anishan; and a certain cult has become aware of this as well.

Manifestations of Utrustica

Inorganic & Organic Materials

Inorganic materials such as metals, minerals, gemstones and glass are quite difficult to make. Metallic alloys and composite materials become more difficult to materialize the more complex they are in their composition. Organic materials, such as bone, fur and leather are arguably the most complex types of matter one can create with Utrustica.

Advanced & Simplistic Items

While creating basic materials is in general something that requires effort, the same does not need to be said for some of the more complex tools and apparel that Anishans may be seen utilize and wear. Even equipment with a highly advanced aesthetic — such as apparel made from composite materials and energy weaponry — won’t require much of an effort for those who are of the correct Alignments.

Passive drain of Ani Force & Advanced weaponry

Ani Force is passively drained to an extent after a manifestation. Especially so with regards to advanced items, to such an extent that one can say that they are powered by the Ani Force. This is done either through physical contact with the item or by simply being in its vicinity.
How much Ani Force is drained depends on an Anishan's Alignments. If the advanced aesthetic is part of their Theme and Likseh then a minimum of it will be drained, if everything is casual.
If an Anishan without an advanced Alignment — or without proper training — takes hold of an advanced tool then a much more noticeable amount of Ani Force will be drained as time goes on.
