Cradle

Cradle is the largest moon of Sky Father. A gaia world, it is the assumed homeworld of the Ziirans and the capital of the Ziiran Forerunners. Based on a combination of Ziiran physiology and astrophysical observations, it is believed that Cradle was once a desert world, before being terraformed by the Ziirans into a gaia world. However, the theory that Cradle is the homeworld of the Ziirans is not fully supported by all researchers. Some argue that the likelihood of intelligent life evolving in a system with only a single planet is incredibly unlikely, and based on the technological levels of the Ziiran Forerunners, it is more likely that they migrated to Cradle from their original homeworld.

Regardless of whether Cradle is the homeworld of the Ziirans, it is an immensely developed world covered in extremely advanced technology. The vast majority of the Ziiran population does not work, instead living lives of extreme luxury and tended to by synthetics (albeit devoid of artificial intelligence). The population lives in a true post-scarcity society, with replicators capable of producing any object at a whim. The extensive technology is powered by a pair of singularities, captured within powerful containment fields, producing energy levels that defy physics.

The population is roughly evenly distributed across the planet, with a slight bias toward the warmer equatorial regions. Large parts of the planet are covered in urban sprawl, though a significant portion of the population lives in gravity-defying domed flying cities.
