Ziiran

Ziirans are a species of sapient bipedal reptilians that are believed to have originated on the gaia world of Cradle. Their physiology indicates that they are adapted to desert living, so either Cradle was terraformed into a gaia world, or their homeworld is elsewhere. Despite limited data on Ziiran internal physiology, the species exhibits signs of significant genetic modification. Ziirans exhibit significantly more cognitive ability than they should for their brain size, indicating significant improvements there. Testimony from explorers within Ziiran space has also indicated that the species has radically altered internal organs, making them significantly more resilient and longer-lived.

Most Ziirans live lives of extreme comfort, tended to by non-sapient synthetics in the core worlds of their empire. Extremely few have been seen outside their borders, usually in advanced scout ships on unknown orders.
