Heka'naos (Heck-ah-now-ss)
A fairly prestigious magic school perfect for those without formal schooling in the arcane. It was founded by a previous court mage, Hekate Cercius, of the Nassos Princedom a couple of centuries ago in order to bring more competent mages to the land. It is currently headed by Court Mage Zerzula. They have scholarships for poor students but these students still need a sponsor to be considered for school entry. Sponsors are usually former high-ranking students, professors, wealthy merchants, or nobles.
This school trains students to serve the people of Eckril though not all students go on to do so. Employment after graduation includes the military, city guards, advisors to regional governors, and aids to merchant companies. Some graduates go on to be adventurers while others pursue even more education at one of the magic colleges to study arcane theory.
