Southern Werewolves
Naming Traditions
Feminine names
Girls are often named after minerals and gemstones, or calm natural phenomena such as the autumn mist or the moonlight.
Masculine names
Boys are named after animals, or energetic natural phenomena such as the howling wind or meteor showers.
Family names
The family as a whole is not named. However, people carry additional names who reference their parents.
Each person's given name is followed by that of their mother. This second name has the suffix "-bur" that translates as "born". The father's name then follows, with the suffix "-zeg" that means "sired".
Culture
Common Dress code
People of either gender braid their hair, to keep it from getting in the way. Men tend to have long beards that are braided as well.
When shifting to their wolverine form, these braids usually stay in place among the added fur.
As for clothing, werewolves wrap their bodies in large pieces of fabric that are held together by ornate belts. These are easily taken off or adjusted in fit after a person changes their form.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Physical strength is considered attractive regardless of gender. Therefore, tall or muscular appearances are preferred.
Relationship Ideals
Loyalty is highly valued in all kinds of relationships. Friends, for instance, only count as such if they stand by each other's side in difficult times.
Parents are expected to care for their children until they are able to live independently, and provide a safe haven afterwards in case they should need it. Grown-up children, in turn, are expected to support their parents and care for them as they get old.
Couples are mostly monogamous, and getting involved with a third person behind the partner's back is seen as a serious offence. However, if a couple agrees to have a less exclusive relationship, few people will object.
