Beastfolk
During the Ireathian era, a human man by the name of Davar fled the reaches of Ireath for murdering an Ireathian soldier who was beating another citizen. He ran into the Blind Desert, living in solitude for years. To survive the inhabitable wastes, Davar relied on bestial magic, adapting his body to the challenges he faced. Legends say that Davar changed himself so many times and became such a skilled practitioner of bestial magic, that he was eventually able to make the changes permanent, altering his bloodline forever. However, the Kadosh tells the story of the Chaimor speaking to Davar. The Lights made a pact with the man, promising that he would become the patriarch of a great people, set apart from, and an example to, the world. According to the Kadosh, this promise is what altered Davar and his descendants forever, granting them the unique and intimidating physicality of the beastfolk.
Thanks to archeological evidence, it is documented that the image of the beastfolk has changed over time. While the base features remain the same, black eyes, elongated digits, broad features, and increased amounts of hair, paintings and drawings show that characteristics have become exaggerated and have developed differently between groups. Scholars believe that these changes are due to cultural and regional aesthetic preferences. Beastfolk today are extremely varied depending on what historical line they descend from, but most beastfolk now have long tusks and fangs, claws, flattened faces, and patterned skin.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Despite their history with neutral bestial magic, the beastfolk are not more inclined to possess the ability to utilize magic than the other races. The probability remains similar to humanity and thus is quite rare. The beastfolk do possess keener senses than their human counterparts, particularly their hearing, but they are also able to see in the dark.
