Thari

Geography

Much of the continent’s geography remains shrouded in mystery, as the majority of Thari is concealed beneath relentless, year-round snowstorms. These storms, fierce and unyielding, cloak the land in a veil of icy secrecy, making exploration and mapping a formidable challenge. From the glimpses that have been captured during rare moments of clear weather, it is evident that Thari is predominantly a vast expanse of flat terrain, blanketed in an unending layer of pristine snow. This landscape, with its seemingly infinite white plains, creates an enchanting and otherworldly vista that evokes the magical charm of a winter wonderland. The stark contrast between the pure white snow and the occasional silhouette of a snow-laden tree or a distant mountain peak adds to the surreal beauty of the scene. It's a place where the silence of the snow-covered land is only broken by the howling wind, and where the sun, when it does appear, casts a dazzling sparkle across the frozen ground, enhancing the ethereal atmosphere of this hidden and inhospitable yet mesmerizing continent.

Ecosystem Cycles

There isn’t a cycle to the ecosystem. Somehow, it manages to stay the same all year round. The only real difference is that during the winter months the north of Jyalb can feel the snowstorms raging on.

Localized Phenomena

The ever-present snow storm that rages on in what’s known as the Frozen Middle .

Climate

The climate is below freezing, though it doesn’t feel too bad over near the shores.

Natural Resources

The continent is rich in gems untouched by humanoids for eons. There’s also plenty of wood from trees.

History

No one who’s entered the frozen middle has ever made it out alive. Because of the dangerous section of the continent, very few ever try venturing into the depths of the continent. Very few try to cause conflict, especially, afraid of what nature will unleash upon them for stirring up trouble. Some say it’s ice wraiths or floating octopi that guard something in the middle, but nothing is really confirmed.   Aside for the Frozen Middle, the other unsolved mystery is the fact that the continent is always expanding, slowly. Ecologists believe that Thari and Jyalb will connect in a mere 10,000 years, evident by the waters between the continents becoming more shallow and study ground rising up from the continent. Some argue that it could be a super volcano trying to beat the harsh conditions.

Tourism

Many nobles who can tolerate the cold love to tour around the outer skirts of the continent. Many castles made to withstand the high winds were built just for nobles to relax in, perfect for escaping the summer heat.
