The Great Human-Ivierae War

The Conflict

Battlefield

All battles were fought on Fzalder, mostly taking place near the southwest part of the continent.

Outcome

Ivierae and satyr were largely unable to leave Fzalder, though satyr were granted permission to leave much sooner than ivierae.

Aftermath

Many modern day conflicts and debates stem from the war and what it was supposed to accomplish. Many organisations and guilds were created to either fight for equal rights or to further take away what’s left. Outside of Fzalder, most ivierae and satyr struggle to escape poverty. Colourism was also a prevalent issue, as the oppressors associated darker skin colour with demons in general.

Historical Significance

Lord Fyayn and Lynç didn’t like the idea of ivierae settling on Mirthae, believing that there was an ulterior motive because of Czono Vladimir’s letter to Cassius.   Merthicz did everything in her power to try and prevent any conflicts, even asserting divine influence over the other gods. It eventually led to the point where Lord Fyayn was paranoid about the ivierae, and watching them engage in their “depraved” culture caused him to explode, even though it was pretty innocent. He didn’t like that many of his creations were ignoring his rules and letting go of their highly puritanical beliefs, even turning to Lord Jusniet for worship over him. He exploded after finding out that Änøy lost his virginity to an ivierae.

Legacy

The Human-Ivierae War is the second most talked about historical event to date, only beaten by the Vampire War. It laid the groundwork for how oppressed groups were allowed to be treated, even though it wasn’t intentional on Lady Merthicz’ part.

Belligerents

Strength

Flau had the major support of satyr, moon elves, half of the lynç elves, dragons, and mermaids. Satyr, lynç elves, and dragons actively fought alongside the ivierae. Their power, combined with the blessings and aid of mermaids and moon elves, they were able to fend off against the opposing side with ease despite often being heavily outnumbered.
Symilf had the major support of lynç elves in the kingdoms close to them, as well as a few dragons. Physically they weren’t very strong, but were quite adept magically with the elves. That, combined with their advanced knowledge of the land and military experience, and the sheer number of soldiers, it led to the Symilf side starting with the advantage. That is to say though, if they didn’t have dirty tactics and a large population of soldiers, they could’ve easily been defeated.

Casualties

A decent number of casualties were caused despite the strength of their side. The opposing side often resorted to dirty tactics like ambushes, slaughtering civilian settlements, cornering small troops, and even “accidentally” spilling fake plans of attack.
There was a higher number of casualties, at least when it came to majority human troops. Nearly half of those casualties were caused by Lord Cassius, as he took great delight in capturing prisoners, and torturing them until they either died or committed suicide.

Objectives

Their main objective was to push back the opposing side and get them off the continent. They had gotten close to achieving the goal at the start of the Posey Picking for Peace battle.
Their main objective was to completely eradicate ivierae from Mirthae. Another main objective was to subjugate the satyr, either taking them as slaves or wiping them out like the ivierae.
