Equipment

Their metal blades are coated with a thin layer of copper using a technique called the Cuprikeshang or Copperskining. There is much debate about whether this copper layer has any advantages as after some use weapons, the copper is partially worn off, and in some cases, the edges can dull quickly. Still, the Copper Hook warriors are adamant that these blades infuse them with the flames of Balgashang.

Kalig

The Copper Hook Knights are equipped with the Kalig. With a long curved blade, the Kalig were made to be used by mounted cavalry to cut through hordes of infantry with sweeping strikes. What makes the Kalig unique is the balance, the design uses additional metal worked into the last foot of the tip of the sword, making it not only wider but also thicker. This gives the blade significantly more weight and mass at its end. This additional mass near the tip shifts the center of gravity for the weapon very far down the weapon, maximizing the amount of force on the blade’s edge at the point it was most likely to make contact. This gives the Kalig far greater momentum in its downward and sweeping strikes. The weight was such that a single blow delivered accurately is devastating, better than most swords.

Hooked Glaive

The common men of arms have begun experimenting using the Hooked Glaive with one man per Octads so equipped, enabling them to bring down a horseman. Typically, the Hooked Glaive wielder is physically the strongest man in the unit, and the men either side are trained to assist.

War Dogs

Additionally, the Copper Hook employs large packs of highly trained war dogs. These vicious beasts, trained and commanded by Priests of the Fuming gate act with a high degree of coordination with the Knights and men of arms, often breaking up defensive lines or running down fleeing foes.
