Cuprikeshang - Copper Plating
The Agrikian Fighting Order of the Company of the Copper Hook steel weaponry is coated with a copper layer. This technique is called the Cuprikeshang process, or Copperskining.
There is much debate whether this copper layer has any advantages in combat. After some use the copper plating is partially worn off, and in some cases, the edges can dull quickly, but the Copper Hook warriors are adamant that these blades infuse them with the flames of Balgashang.
History
In 700TR, Hyen Keep was visited by the Arcanist, Alchemist, and lay adherent Azorkan Silvak who had developed an alchemical copper plating process, which he was able to demonstrate on the Grandmasters dagger. Enthused by the concept, as the order had been painting its weapons with expensive copper paint, they financed scale up and now has an operating Cuprikeshang or Copperskining process, and all steel weaponry is now treated.
Azorkan has stayed on at Hyen, spending time perfecting the process and as well as giving the Copper Hook inconspicuous Arcane support. It is said he has been developing costly magical techniques to harden the copper layer to make it as strong as steel but more flexible.
