Corgon Parqarn is a tall, strong and intimidating man with a huge allegedly “enchanted” war hammer. He leads a small mercenary company of well-equipped killers, the Band of the Ruby Hammer. He is cunning, brutal and charming with the ability to ingrate himself in with similar minded people.
Corgon aspires for nobility and claims family titles from both his mother’s (Rethemi) or father’s (Kaldorian) ancestry. He is capable and has far-reaching plans, all of which are dependent on war, the sooner the better.

Special abilities

An excellent warrior, fast and strong, able to swing his hammer, the Crimson Pillar, in accurate arcs causing devastation on whatever he hits. He takes great joy pounding through shields and armor, especially hammering mail into the flesh of his foes or crushing skulls. He trains daily to keep up his strength, speed and accuracy. Always leading an attack and able to literally hammer through most defensive lines, he is aware that such tactics leave him vulnerable, so he wears reinforced good quality armor and ensures at he is flanked by reliable shielded fighters.

Personal history

Born in the winter of 686 from a tryst between his father Corson “The Nanny” Parqarn, leader of the mercenary company, the Band of the Ruby Hammer and Lady Aellia Nyfeen, the widow of a Rethemi knight killed early stages of Ezar’s war. Corson Parqarn was supposedly the bastard son of the Lord Chewintin manor, Sir Alexan Asperan.

In 705, after his father was hit in the back with a poisoned arrow during a Pagaelin ambush, he assumed command of the company at age 19. Although many of the old guard left the band, he with the support of his numerous half-brothers, recruited a diverse range of killers, outcast, and thugs, honing them into an effective, if a rough band of infantry specializing in close quarter combat, ambush, and scouting.

Intellectual Characteristics

Relatively smart and a good tactical thinker. Always willing to consider advice from his half-brothers especially the intelligent studious Corvorn Ibalath.

Half-brother Corton Ibalath is a sergeant of the city watch in Tashals City Guard.

His second in command is his charismatic half-brother Coron Serata, 5 years younger and superbly accurate with his Khuzdul made high impact heavy crossbow.

Financial adviser and bookkeeper Corvorn Ibalath, another half-brother who trained at the Shostim guild of Arcane Lore (The Chantry of the Evanescent Assembly of the Enigmas of Peleahn). Likes to stare into flames maybe a little too much.

He does have some connections in the Kingdom of Rethem, from his father’s time, and with some merchant families in the Thardic Republic during his years of supplying guards for the Salt Route.

He is on good terms with some of the leadership of the Tashal Thieves guild. Has done them few favors over the years and some of his recruits are members or associates.

The khuzdul Merchant Kurnian Thorgin, director of several Trading companies, is well connected in the Kingdom of Azadmere. Kurnian has not forgotten his father saved his life and dwarves have long memories.

Has close and excellent relationships with his half brothers.

Not religious, can’t even be bothered pretending to be interested.

Can be vulgar among his men and is able to smarten up for a time in more refined company, however, thuggish nature can occasionally show through.

He does like to bully and intimidate opponents or whoever crosses him. He is not afraid to fight dirty or break the law to accomplish is goals.

Independently wealthy.

He receives irregular but large dividends from is part holding in the Khuzdul merchant company, Thorgin’s Fine Brass Implements.

He also has a townhouse in the City of Tashal.
