Dame Afaewynn Barthy
Dame Afaewynn Barthy is the only child of Sir Edwin Barthy, Bailiff of Ovendel Manor. At age 17, her father arranged a marriage to a knight in the Earl of Balim's household guard stationed at Kiban; unfortunately, a year later, he died in a riding mishap while hunting with Sir Kathel Dezaller of Loban. She suspects this may not have been an accident but has no evidence of foul play or a motive. However, she has displayed much animosity toward Sir Kathel and his younger brother Sir Crya.
After proving herself in combat against a group of brigands, she was knighted by a family friend and started fulfilling Ovendel's feudal levy in place of her aging father. She attends tournaments to prove to the Dezaller Clan and their allies that she is just as good as they are – if not better. If she is not confirmed as the bailiff of Ovendel on her father's passing, Dame Barthy will be without a means of support. She has set aside tournament winnings and invested with the usurers in City of Tashal as an insurance policy.
Dame Afaewynn's second cousin Sir Hizer Barathy is the Lord of Greaven Manor.
