Earl Denyl Lynnaeus
Denyl Lynnaeus, the Earl of Tormau was a masterful politician with a ruthless streak.
During the reign of the former king, Chafin II, he married his brother into the royal family.
He seized Ithius keep from the Earl of Ithiko gaining his enmity and also built major fortifications without Royal approval.
Since King Chafin III seized the throne in 715TR, he and Denyl were deadly enemies. King Chafin arranged the murder of his sister in law, something the Earl would not ever forgive.
King Chafin demanded that the Earl submit and swear fealty to the crown in 721TR. He refused sparking the Tormau rebellion (712 to 723TR).
Earl Denyl was assassinated at the height of his power, on the day he killed is rival King Chafin III and defeated his army in the Battle of Rylosin Forest.

704TR - Denyl marries Berenia Horsik, however, she dies in childbirth the same year.
707TR - Denyl becomes Earl after the death of his father Tokra.
711TR - Denyl builds Weseda keep without royal approval.
713TR - Denyl seizes Ithius keep from the Earl of Ithiko.
715TR - King Chafin III takes the throne, Earl Denyl believes both his nephew and Niece have a better claim and has refused to swear fealty.
721TR - Denyl defied the Kings demands for fealty sparking the Tormau rebellion.
723TR - After three years of bitter fighting King Chafin marches his army to Tormau. During the Battle of Rylosin Forest Denyl is injured but preforms brilliantly achieving a stunning victory through a combination of cunning negotiation and military skill. Sadly he is assassinated on the same night.

Denyl has a large extended family and his brother Vavryse was named his heir.
Religious Views
For a Rethemi Lord the Earl showed remarkable religious tolerance, he allows his common folk to openly worship Peoni and the discrete worship of Siem and Ilvir is tolerated.
In public he is said to have worship both Agrik and Morgath but does not appear to have been particularly devoted.
