Governor Peserl Lorseriel (a.k.a. The Heart Stealer, The Tyrant Peserl)
Peserl Lorseriel is an Amorvin a undead priest of Morgath.
He has kept a low profile since his apparent death during the legendary Sacrifice of Meyasania over 130 years ago, but he has become more active recently for some reason.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Peserl is an Amorvin a free-willed undead into at least his 4th or 5th undead life.
The entire right side of his body has been seared to the bone by Balefire. Damage from such radiant energy will not fully heal when his body reforms after a death.
The left side of his body, not damaged by the Balefire explosion and appears as a severe-looking 30-year-old man.
Special abilities
Being an Amorvin he has all the benefits and disadvantage for being undead.
He can call on the Shadow of Bukrai at will and can create and control undead.
His ability to magically rip the hearts from the living is legendary.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Peserl grew up in the Dalkesh Empire, and when a rival assassinated his potter father, he fled to the City of Golotha.
Eventually he found refuge in the temple of Morgath with his mother and became a priest. He soon found himself drawn to the teachings of the Heretical Prophet Balsha and became one of his first disciples.
In the chaos and outrage that followed Balsha's impalement, Peserl led a rebellion at Themeson and seized the castle for the infamous newly formed Theocracy of Tekhos. He was selected to head the governing tribunal in the region while working up the church ranks. Known as the Tyrant Peserl and later as The Heart Stealer as he performed many bloody human sacrifices in the nearby woods.
He seemed to remain relatively young, possibly because he already taken the Myvria's Kiss ritual and was an Amorvin a free-willed undead.
He was so hated and feared that in 588TR the Themeson region rebelled. The insurgents were led by Meyasania a priestess of Agrik of the Order of Hepra the Mace. Their armies clashed, and Meyasania was captured. To demoralize the rebels, Peserl planned to sacrifice Meyasania to Morgath by tearing out her heart, but at the last moment, the priestess grabbed Peserl and called upon her god and burst into searing Balefire Flames. Persal was incinerated, Meyasania was consumed by her flames, and the Agrikain rebels rallied and slaughtered the Morgathic forces.
That day two legends were born, the Sacrifice of Meyasania and the Ghost of the Heartstealer, who is said to haunt his old Mausoleum.
