Culsize Daybringer
Cassen Daybringer is, quite frankly, unsatisfied with Mythrite. Born into a poor family of human tradesmen and spending the first two decades of her life in a small village on the outskirts of Waterdeep, she gained practice in the art of scrutiny very early on, listening to her father’s rants about all that was wrong with the world. Her family’s position towards the fringes of society produced a deep disdain and resentment for any individuals who were better off than themselves. However, she caught a break at the age of 22, when her cousin Idris announced he was setting off to join a mining company in Mythrite, and he invited her to come along with him.
A year of working the Mines paid healthily for Cassen and Idris, allowing them to purchase a home in Eronia Minor, and solidifying their status as middle-class citizens. However, this experience was marred by greedy contractors and corrupt middlemen, who attempted to eke out as much of their money as possible while relegating them to a compromised area of the settlement. This process of climbing the social ladder highlighted many societal issues to Cassen, and she realized she could do something about that.
Cassen’s status within the mining industry affords her a level of credibility, so much so that she is known to spread ideas within certain pockets of miners, stirring up dissatisfaction with the way things are done in Mythrite. If one were to ask her what is wrong with their civilization, the list of complaints would be endless. Have you heard of the merchant who swindled a family out of their entire life savings? Or the new contractor who just moved into town with the expressed intent of poaching miners for his own company? And there are many more...
But she has learned an art to the delivery of these complaints, where she expresses herself with conviction and intensity, so as not to come off whining or grating. She has become an influencer of thought and opinion, but the extent to which the tensions she has been brewing are known to the greater populace is relatively unknown. Perhaps, to the right person, she is a massive target, and her elimination the key to controlling an impending miners’ uprising.
