Dulrik Bronzehammer
Dulrik Bronzehammer
Dulrik Bronzehammer once was in the limelight of his craft, the go to blacksmith for dwarven based weaponry and armor in Waterdeep. Yet fame is fleeting, he fell from the high pedestal some ten years ago. With the remainder of his savings drying up he has made his way to Mythrite. With his advancing age he aims to pass on his own knowledge to the future generations within Mythrite. Becoming a teacher is merely one reason for his arrival, he truely aims to require the status and wealth he has lost. For a dwarf like Dulrik, time will pass and so will he but his name ought to remain.Physical Description
General Appearance/Stature
From a distance you could pick Dulrik from a crowd of dwarves, his build is stocky and he has a bit of gut yet his head is clean. His porcelain head of hair is smooth and round, yet is covered in enough soot to make a giant sneeze. His clothes match in suit to his cleanliness, besides a heap on the floor only one outfit is truly well kept.Notable Features
For his advanced age the dwarf is covered in wrinkles, not like a turkey vulture but close to a war elephant. His beard may be short but it still has hints of red throughout the ash. He has a slash through his left ear, a reminder of an old rival. The name of his late wife is engraved to his left arm in dwarvish runes.Personal/Emotional Description
Vocation
Dulrik Bronzehammer is a guild worker who works under the blacksmithing guild as a master blacksmith. Outside of selling his own wares his goal is to teach the future generations of blacksmiths.Education
He received a standard education one would find in Waterdeep at a school house. He knows how to write, read, and speak common. Of the subjects taught in school the one that peaked his interest is history. Although it was not for the great epics of social enquiry or war, it was for those whose names are remembered throughout history. Other subjects he was decent at but could truly give a rat’s ass about. Outside of his standard education his father ensured that he learned dwarven and the history of dwarves that was deemed irrelevant at the school house. This led Dulrik to have a sense of patriotism within his own race, to the point where it is a flaw. He isn’t a racist by any means but he will tend to think the dwarven way of doing work was the only way. In regards to blacksmithing the basics were taught to him through his father through a harrowing process. Gathering his own materials on a tight budget if he could not dig it up himself. He does not look back on the process with a negative attitude, it's more of an appreciation of the craft. He is fully aware that this process is not for everyone but will push people to try something similar to it.Wealth
Dulrik’s wealth is not what it once was, he is not a beggar but he is not living the middle class life many others are. He will prioritize buying materials over clothes and will only buy food or drink when he thinks he deserves it. That being said he won't starve himself he will gladly survive off of cheap meals to get a job done correctly. Yet he does want to have one decent meal a week.Living Conditions
Dulrik lives in a modest and dirty two room home in Mythrilgrist, one room contains his personal workshop and the other is his bedroom. His workshop is kept clean, organized, and optimized for work. His bedroom is the exact opposite; smelly, dirty, and a after thought to the dwarf.Personality
Dulrik from an outward appearance is a relatively sociable and approachable dwarf, willing to strike up conversation with relatively anyone. For those close to him or have earned his respect he is more open. Depending on his opinion of you he will change from a slow talking but friendly dwarf to a fast speaking, loud, and crass individual. For those who know him this change is quite noticeable. His beliefs stem from his father, a good craft conquers all. If you can produce something worthwhile regardless of talent then you have purpose. He believes in the old dwarven forge gods, although he does not outright worship them.Relationships
History
Bronzehammer is Stulton's go to for selling the Mythril he finds out in the expanse of land around Mythrite. At somepoint there might be a better way to make money, but taking the raw ore and turning into viable products nets both a fair amount of income. Bronzehammer and Stulton are on fairly goods terms, and once a week or so they spend time at a nearby tavern. There they talk about money and possible jobs. A lot of the talk is full of extra flair to boost confidence in their ability.
