Captain
Captain Galdar Rougash is one of the leading figures in the Mythrite Town Guard. He is tall and muscular, and carries himself with an air of confidence and intention. Although he is outwardly compassionate and expresses a deep concern for the safety of the people of Mythrite, there is an unconscious intensity in his demeanor that is easily noted by those who are more socially adept. He is often seen in the Barracks or patrolling the streets of Mythrite wearing his polished armor, proudly displaying the insignia of the Waterdhavian City Guard upon his surcoat. In his words, he likes to be prepared, always ready to protect the town of Mythrite from any dangers that may fall upon it. However, Galdar is far more likely to engage in the battlefield of politics, as he seeks to increase his social and economic status.
Physical Description
Rougash is in very good physical condition. He is a soldier, and he has a body that shows for it. He has a very intimidating appearance, towering at 6'5" with muscular physique and rugged features.
Galdar has a scar on the right side of his face, that runs down from his temple and cuts through his lip. He claims to have gotten it during his time in Waterdeep, fighting to protect a noble's cart while they were traveling.
Mental characteristics
Captain Rougash got his start in Waterdeep, where he was born. Though he avoids talking about his past, there are several rumors that speculate on Galdar’s childhood. The most common claim that he was originally born to a poor family, struggling to survive in the Trades Ward of the city. However, when he was a younger man he made a connection with one of the nobility in the city, who aided him in joining the Waterdhavian city guard. Galdar took this as his chance to escape his family’s poverty and become something more.
Through his training with the city guard, Galdar was taught how to wield a blade. However it was during his years of service that he learned a far more valuable skill: the power of influence. Soon after he began working in the guard, Galdar was noted by his superiors for the impact that he had on the soldiers around him. He had a way of speaking to people that instantly won them over, and a sense of confidence and authority that made others inherently follow him. Because of this, he was quickly able to rise in the ranks of the guard, eventually earning himself the title of captain.
In his time working for the Lords of Waterdeep, he was able to climb the social ladder higher than he ever thought possible. However, despite his rank, he was still just a soldier; he had common interactions with the nobility of Waterdeep, but he wasn’t one of them. He wanted more, but he needed something that would let him break through that barrier, some avenue to rise even further above his station. So, when news of mass amounts of Mithril found in the Greypeak Mountains reached Waterdeep, Galdar leapt at his chance. He knew that such a discovery would draw thousands of people to the mountains, people looking to strike it rich and change their lives forever. It could be his chance to change his life as well. So, he made the long journey to Mythrite with several of his close associates from the guard, soldiers who served under him and were similarly looking for a change.
Present
Now, Galdar Rougash has established himself as one of the heads of the Town Guard, and holds authority over a large number of the guards within Mythrite. He first arrived within the first few months of the town’s establishment, and took the initiative as an authoritative presence in the guard and in the general politics of the town from the moment he stepped off his cart. Of course, through his pursuits he has made plenty of enemies, particularly with those who resent centralized structure in Mythrite. However, he has made many connections with the big names in town, establishing a network of political allies and cementing his position as a leading figure.
Galdar is fairly humble in the way he presents himself. Despite being at the head of Mythrite’s guard, the nicest thing he owns is his armor, an heirloom he wears like a medal to display his rank and accomplishments. He currently resides in a small dwelling in Eronia Minor, where he lives alone. For those few who have seen it, the house is relatively bare, populated with some furniture and a few books on history, philosophy and politics. When asked about his economic situation, Galdar usually brushes off the question, claiming that he needs very little to get by considering his solitary lifestyle. He usually closes with a statement along the lines of “protecting the people of Mythrite is it’s own reward.”
However, Galdar’s political standing within Mythrite is not without its blemishes. The guards who serve under Rougash have been accused of performing some shady acts, such as taking payments from merchants for special protection of their goods, or to look the other way for crimes committed against their competitors. Despite these accusations, there was never any proof that tied Galdar to them. He was quick to address the concerns, however, assuring people that these were mostly rumors spread by anti-authority parties within the town and that he had no knowledge of those that actually were committed. His words soothed the population of Mythrite, enough so that, when his accusers eventually died in a mining accident or robbery later that month, their accusations were buried with them.

Towards Ascella Sagittarii
History
As respective captains of the town and caravan guards, Galdar and Ascella are naturally at odds. Ascella sees the town guard as a cushy job for those who want all the glory, without any actual work. She also is distrustful of their methods and believes them to be involved in shady dealings. Ascella dislikes Galdar especially, as she has heard about the misdeeds committed by members of Galdar's own guard, and doesn't believe his claims that he was uninvolved. She also sees him as arrogant, and believes that his outward display of humbleness and virtue is all an act to cover up devious activities. Galdar doesn't like the suspicions that Ascella raises against him, nor the fact that she openly opposes his political rise.
