Merchants
Opinions on merchants are deeply divided, from admiration to despisement. Like all settlers who have come to Mythrite, merchants saw an opportunity to strike it rich. The first supply store, the first grocer, the first weapons dealer--should Mythrite continue to grow, their fortunes will grow with it. Some miners think the merchants are opportunists who raise and lower prices as demand warrants at the expense of the miners' profits, but others see them providing a vital outlet for much-needed supplies and to grow the local economy and establish trade routes with wealthier cities along the main roads to the coast.
Some merchants work directly with the tradesfolk to market and sell the goods being produced, while others buy goods outright and resell them from their own storefronts. Many merchants had good contacts with suppliers from the city and cautiously guard the incoming shipments from the river to protect rare goods, with dried meat, dried fruits, and exotic spices being some of the most coveted items. The number of merchants and guild services is roughly equivalent, around 20% just behind the number of Miners.
