Niddahl Errie
Though half-elf, Niddahl was raised by an influential human family in the capital city. He was orphaned at a very young age and has no recollection of either parent. He was treated well, but never felt loved by his adopted human family. He was not discriminated against in school or society at large but nevertheless felt unaccepted by other humans. Elves shunned him completely...perhaps because of his human-style facial hair? None ever spoke to him.
When he was old enough to ask about his past, his adopted parents were aloof and claimed to have no knowledge of his biological parents. Numerous attempts to discover his heritage bore no fruit. In time he realized that due to the connections in the local government of his adopted parents, even if anybody in the city did know anything, they would never divulge that information to him.
When asked, he would say he moved to Mythrite after he graduated law school for a fresh start and a better chance to make a name for himself. He believed this to be true (it served as the perfect cover!) but his real intent was to get closer to solving the burning question of his life: who were his parents, and what had happened to them?
The closest Niddahl ever got to obtaining even a scrap of information was that an upper-class human living in Mythrite might have known his mother. With evident relief that he would be relocating to start up his law practice, his adopted parents gave him a sizable sum to purchase a house in a good section of Eronia. Being both eloquent and urbane (and of course, with the surname of his adopted parents) it would be effortless to rub elbows with influential people in Mythrite. He had no doubt that he would soon represent them all.
It was highly unlikely there would be a lawyer with half his knowledge or skill in such a town. Word of his legal prowess would soon reach far and wide. In time he would find out whatever there was to know from the human who allegedly knew his mother. He doubted he would stick around Mythrite much beyond that.
