The Broken Shack
Just outside of the Mythrite Graveyard sits a lone hovel, long abandoned by its original builder, with overgrown weeds and bushes surrounding it on all sides. It contains a single room covered in detritus, as if its last inhabitants went on a destructive rampage before leaving for good. In the corner there’s a trapdoor which leads down to a storage cellar, no more than four and a half feet deep. The cellar too contains a massive amount of detritus.
Although Mythrite has only been established for less than a year, superstition and local legends have already formed around certain areas in and around town. Specifically, townsfolk avoid this small squat building, especially at night. Veteran caravaners warn those on their first haul to steer well clear from its premises, and permanent residents of Mythrite never approach the graveyard from that side. What started this apprehension? No one knows, or at least no one is willing to admit they know.
What is known, is that for as long as most caravaners remember, strange noises have emanated from the shack at night. And every full moon, mysterious lights will shine in the windows. An expedition by a few of the more adventurous youths of Mythrite deigned to stay a whole full moon within the shack several months back. No one knows what they saw, and all of them have either left town or disappeared soon after emerging that morning. Is there truly something supernatural going on within the town walls? Or is there a more mortal answer?
