Lanayru

Culture

Although not considered as upper-crust as the province of Zora's Domain, Lanayru is a province with a higher ratio of middle-to-upper class households. It's also of note that the politics of the Zora monarchy hold significant influence in Lanayru, often to the diminishment of the local provincial goverment.

Demography and Population

Hyrule's most populous province, Lanayru is predominantly populated by Hylians and Zora.

Species% of Population
Gerudo 4.03%
Goron 0.04%
Hylian 59.03%
Rito 1.02%
Sheikah 2.04%
Zora 33.85%

Territories

Lanayru is defined mainly by the Zora River, which winds through it, perpetually shaping and reshaping the land. There are large swamps and wetlands across its expanse, and it is known for being very waterlogged, with an exception in the north, where the increasing altitude leading into Eldin allows for a drier, more forested landscape.

Agriculture & Industry

Western Lanayru, where the Zora River meets Hyrule Field, sees more commercial agriculture than other areas of the province, although the many wetlands and marshes do grow a lot of rice.
Lanayru farms and exports the most fish and shellfish of any province in Hyrule, both fresh and saltwater.

Trade & Transport

Like much of Hyrule, trains are one of the primary modes of transportation. A portion of the Royal Provincial Motorway also extends into Lanayru.
The Zora River itself is used for the transportation of both goods and travelers, and many Lanayru towns use canals and aqueducts alongside standard roads.

Education

Like all of Hyrule, public education is provided. However, like the province of Zora's Domain, Lanayru has a higher number of prestigious private boarding schools.
Lanayru is currently the province with the highest number of universities.
