Starting as a Wave Cleaner
Sayyid grew up in the Depths of Planktown, and became a wave cleaner working for The Five early on, collecting his first plankton tax when he was 4 years old. As time passed, he learned everything he could about the Five, their employees and the citizens of Planktown and started bartering resources and deals under the table with other wave cleaners and citizens. The wave cleaners in return gave him their loyalty and were initially expecting him to join the Five's leadership and potentially join as the Sixth Lord, but then he surprised them all by springing his trap, a web of favors around the Five, capturing all of them under his fin in debt. It all came to a head in a private meeting with the Five, which many feared he would never come out alive. But he did, and people who saw the Five immediately after would describe how the Five looked like they had seen ghosts of all their past lives.Lord of the Depths
Sayyid has since taken on the moniker of the Lord of the Depths, running the entirety of Planktown from behind the waves. He does not make public appearances, but he does go around bartering with people with his resources, almost always being capable of offering them what they want most at the moment, and collecting other resources or favors in return. Most of the citizens of Planktown already owe him something or other, while many others are employed by him directly. The employees actually get paid well, and Sayyid's ascension came with an abundance of phytoplankton and zooplankton production, leading to more food available for everyone. Sayyid's direction has also led to further infrastructure development of Planktown, including a transit system linked to the surface and the creation of portable bubbles enabling surface peoples to visit and trade as well.Appearance
Sayyid is a 7 foot tall manta ray with bipedal legs allowing him to walk as well. Most of their large pectoral fins on their sides are a dark silver in colour, with blue markings arond their shoulders, and he has piercing blue eyes. He usually wraps his fins around himself like a cloak, revealing only his face, and hiding most of his tricks and cards up his fins.
