Ela Stonetell (a.k.a. Captain Hi-Hi)

"...It should have killed me months ago. I don't know why I am not dead yet, but I have been dancing with death ever since. I feel like me running away from my problems for most of my life is the reason I finally got cursed with something that I can’t escape."

    Arrival in Alluminos
    2nd of Gusterus, 130 F.E.

The night before our landing in Alloyus, the dream has reached its climax in my opinion. Five figures appeared in front of me from the fog, some seemed familiar when others not so much. There was a young woman in white clothes that stood out from the dull background. She seemed the most familiar and bright. Then a blue Teifling that made me wince just in the slightest making me feel annoyed. Another young woman with hair as white as snow made me search my memory for where I have seen her before. The other two seemed less familiar to me; a older man with a glow made me feel like he has been near me, but I never really noticed. The last seemed foreign in all sense of the word. His skin was patched in different color and I felt no hint of familiarity with him. A voice then seemed to grab all our attention, but before I could hear what it was saying I was woken up; laying in my hammock with the bottle from the night before in my hand.   As I got to the deck the familiar annoying sound of the bosun hit me, and the annoyance from the Teifling in the dream emerged. Was Malopher the one I saw I thought. Before I could continue I got disrupted by the ever so bright Sophia. The bright smile of her matched that of the young woman in white that seemed to standout. The oddness of the connection of my dream and reality continued. As I got the mast ready with another hand an older passenger emerged from below. He had been on this voyage the entire trip and yet I have not noticed him at all until the dream that had him glowing against the fog bringing him to my attention. This threw me. I hurried up the mast to get away from the weird feeling I was getting hit with, and I know it wasn't caused by the antics of last night.   In the crows nest I took a swig to calm my nerves. The captain then announced something I cannot remember for when I turned to look at him I saw the white hair. The fourth in my dream was the quiet scribe on the ship. I had to stay in the crows nest to gather my thought until I spotted land.   Sure enough the first I saw in the morning light was the shining city of Alluminos, I'm sure thats how it got it's name from the shimmer of the reflecting sun. The shore eventually made my gaze as I announced it to the crew. I wished to get off the ship at first chance after that morning, but was stopped by the joyous hunter of happiness, Sophia, and the scribe behind her. She over powered me thanks to last night's festivities and dragged me back up to Malopher with a job proposition. She then explained the situation to us; each individual would get well compensated for every town we visited with her. The individuals in my dream seemed to be forced together by fate. I found the scribe to be named Robin and she truly is a mute as far as I can see. The elderly man I noticed for the first time this morning accepted the opportunity and introduced himself as Kazimier. He had been on the edge of the group and overheard the proposition. He had military armor on and looked to have scars from combat. I took the chance of introductions to sneak away to gather my things.   Once on shore an official came back with Siesco and announced the names of people who had people waiting for them. The names read put me on edge; mine and the others from my dream. They then led us to a villa that overlooked the docks to meet those who had requested us. The doors opened to an elderly man that seemed to be well tanned in a blazing sun, and worse the last person from my dream, the spotted half elf with a banjo. The old man introduced himself as the Storyteller and the young man was named Clem. He said he had seen us coming in a vision and was very cryptic about the rest, but the point was that it was Clem's right of passage to bring us to our destination in Alloyus. I don't even know what my destination is, so I don't see how Clem could help me. The Storyteller then told us that he had gotten each of us a room at a local inn called the Bitter Salt.   I arrived with the group at the Bittersalt and was given my room. Being light on coin, I found a list of wanted posters and position for a bouncer at a bar named Sweetland that might provide some. We decided to look into a request made by a group called the Lionsguard with the cleric staying behind. At the city guard, we found out a wanted necromancer Tiefling, who goes by the name Morgan Stitchdoll. She escaped the custody of a holy fighter that had glowing sapphire eyes; it was very unsettling. He pointed us in the direction of the Red Clay District, the natives part of town. I also found out from the captain, a dwarf from the 20 orders named Deng Shaotahn, that a bail jumper named Jarmund was actually a smuggler and that the wanted Vagore committed murder at the bar Sweetland. I convinced the group to head to the bar so that I could look into the bouncer job.   We returned to the Bittersalt to that of a suprise. Our goal was to pick up the cleric before heading out, but she had disappeared leaving all her possessions in her room. This curiosity was solved though almost right away when we found a half-elf girl from the boat in the bar named Avalon. We chatted with her and found something off-putting about her, so the knight confronted her and she spilled. It was actually Sophia dressed as a alley rat saying she disguises herself to the half-elf so that she can escape the pressure put on her by her family or something.   Sweetland was a rundown place in the warehouse district of the old shipyard, my perfect place. I spoke with the bartender about the position and found out the man I was replacing was who Valgore killed. It sounded like Valgore was on some sort of drug when he did it, as he was the more level headed of the two. The barman said he heard he was in the Red Clay District. After some time convincing him, started a bar fight with a fellow drunk that got put out by Clem, he offered me the bouncer job and my first night was tonight. Great thing is the job includes free drinks. Through a lie of me trying to find a quick exit out of Alloyus, I found out that I could meet a smuggler tonight here. I don't need a smuggler for myself but I thought that a wanted fugitive might, and ones wanted for bail jumping. Two birds with one stone.   Red Clay is unlike anywhere in the Empire that I have seen. They seem to have this unique food known as corn and a great snack that the Sunshine got called tamales. Some folks seemed like the communicated through hand gestures and I believe I even saw a druid. The tales of the Father Moon told of them a lot. We found a very unusual church that seemed to meld the locals religion and the Mother Sun together; I think it put some shade on Miss Sun. In there the priest said they got a new groundskeeper recently which rang our bells a little. I briefly stayed behind with the priest and to show him my condition and he was able to briefly cure my illness. I thanked him and told him I might return if it flares up again. When I was about to join the others the half-orc started to run, but was no match for me, surprisingly Sophia, and Clem's perfect throw of a spear. Both have surprised me and seem to have more to them then originally thought. When pressed Valgore stated that he was given a drug by a local gang and he was under it when he murdered his friend. It had mutated him and he seemed terrified of it. Instead of letting me turn the guy in for money, I was out voted to let him stay at the church. There goes another payday due to morality and what not.   We made our way through the area back to the inn, but something caught my eye. Buying a tamale I think I spotted the bail jumper. I slid away from the group and followed the halfling to verify my hunch. Eventually following him through a maze of alleys and shops I was able to get my prey. It was him and when I finally cornered him I didn't even need to convince him to talk, he sung like a canary. He was bailed out by this "terrifying" man who was going to use him to forge documents and smuggle something through the city for him and guess who....Morgan and the gang. He was also the smuggler I was suppose to meet at the bar, which I forgot to go to. Oops. He wouldn't shut up and I was still nursing a hangover so I brought him back to the inn for the evening to tell his story to everybody before I collect my prize. When we arrived they were nowhere to be found, so I decided to turn in for the night. Lucky for Jarmund he gets to spend the night with me.

The Tower Appears in My Dream
    3rd of Zhenus, 130 F.E.

The same dream has returned but it has finally provided me with a vision of something. A giant tower stood in front of me reaching into the swelling storm above. It seemed to be the center of the chaos around me. The tower glows all around from runes that seem to take almost every color imaginable. The ground is colorless in comparison and covered in a dessert of sand. A fog curtain looming in the distance is the only contrast between the swirling storm and ocean of gritty earth. I try to take a step and that is when I step into the morning, woken up at the worst time.   Sophia has been telling the crew all about the Mother Sun and the warmth she brings to those who follow her. I don't know how but I think she has found out about my father's unfortunate passing at sea. I doubt it was Siesco or Malopher they are the only ones I told the entire story to. It might be the ship's scribe, she records everything that happens on this ship somehow. I believe I heard her name to be Robin, she has white hair and is on the petite side. I doubt she has ever been in a fight. I don't think she has spoken once actually, I wonder if something happened to it. Not to much though I doubt I'll see her more then 3 times on the ship let alone once we arrive in Alloyus.

    Storms at Sea
    11th of Mavius, 130 F.E.

I was right about the bosan. He has not given me a moment to rest; he will call me out for any slacking. At first, he was looming over me like a swelling hurricane watching every move, but when he saw I knew what I was doing he turned the storm to other parts of the ship to rain on. I’m pretty sure he thinks I am a drunk, but I’m not. I do enjoy a drink or two with some of the other hands at night, but not nearly enough to knock me out. I won’t lie it does help with some of the storms we have gone through. It brings back nightmares of that day.   I have been visited by the same dream again and again, but it seems to be developing every time, sometimes by a second more. This time the burning of metal and earth but not from the likes of cannons, more like struck by the very lightning that awoke me in the dream. Tears formed in my eyes from the smell making me almost choke on it. There it ends with me starting to sea through the tears like getting close to the surface when underwater.   The Sophia girl finally found her prey in me. She was able to fence me into a corner on deck where the only escape would have been the open sea. Instead of jumping I finally told her my name and where I was from and nothing else. This looked to only satisfy her for the time being and I assume she be back for more.

    Set Sail for Alloyus
    30th of Apreri, 130 F.E.

This morning was the oddest one I have had in awhile. It started with me being woken up by the strangest dream. It started with me in a void and darkness of the depths of the ocean floor. The only feeling was the stinging needles I had in the the tips of my fingers, like when submerged in freezing water. My attention turned to the distance rumbling that grew in my ears and the waves of pressure hitting me from distant thunder. My sense of touch awoke as a breeze tickled my skin and rain drops danced on it. Then I awoke as a flash of lightning struck.   What threw me off more was the fact that on the dock this morning was the same young lady from before. This time though she had a few people with her and a bag. She was looking for her ship to set sail on to her journey. Not wanting to get the sales pitch from her I quickly made my way back to the Aunt Hare avoiding her gaze, but guess who was the luck ship taking her on her journey...She made sure to introduce herself to everyone on the ship immediately, and found me eventually. Her name is Sophia De Borel, and she is to set-up a new colony or something in Alloyus for the Mother Sun. She asked I join and before I gave here an answer or my name, I slipped away when she got distracted by O'lak calling to get ready to leave port. I have a feeling she will hunt me down at some point during the voyage.   We set sail to a cloudless morning sky and a good strong eastern wind. We had good waters for most of the day and the hands and I sang a good song or two to help the time pass. I missed this part of being at sea. The sunset brought a pink sky which means fair weather again tomorrow.

    Peschaniko Streets
    29th of Apreri, 130 F.E.

With the coin given to me, I headed into the bustling streets of the port to resupply for the voyage ahead. We make sail tomorrow and I rather make the journey with certain things then purchase them at our destination. I found a nice kurki blade at a vendor near the market.   During my shopping trip, I saw this young woman with black hair that almost looked blue in the right light. She was nicely dressed and had the sort of radiant glow. What was even more odd is she was going from person to person to join them on her journey for the Mother Sun. To where I don't know; I left every time before she got to me. I am not to into the religious talk and prefer to stay away from them. She was talking to all sorts of people; drunks, merchants, farmers, guards, and one or two that seemed to be on the wrong side of the law. I can't figure out why she has stayed with me all day, but I know her joy and upbeat attitude will not last as she ages.   I ended the night in a local bar with an ale I will most likely not have for awhile, shame. I'll most likely sleep somewhere on the docks hidden instead of wasting money on a room.

    Back on the Mainland
    28th of Apreri, 130 F.E.

I have arrived in the coast city of Peschaniko after being rescued by the ship Aunt Hare and her captain, Capt. Siesco O'Lak. He is a nice man who showed me mercy, something welcome after the isolation of the isle. I was fishing with my father when our ship went down during a recent storm and I was the only survivor that I know of. I washed up on an isle and was there for a few days before they found me.   I would have decided to stay with them, since they are scheduled to make sail for Alloyus. There is nothing for me in Argenti. I have made a deal with Capt. O'Lak to be a deck hand on the Hare plus some coin in exchange for voyage to Alloyus. The only thing I'm worried about is the bosun, a male blue skinned Teifling that claims to be the captain's son. I don't know how that works but he goes by the name Malopher and he smokes like a burning ship. He kept his eye on me once they saved me and I don't think its because he fancies me.
