Doomed Kin
“Never a more feared privateer on the four seas. Cutthroat and commanding, he was called. Would slash open your belly if he suspected you swallowed a gold piece. Least that’s what they said about the man...”Rothgar the Sloop when asked about Capt. Lage
"Blood of the Covenant is thicker than the water of the Womb!"The Doomed Kin refers to a now disbanded pirate crew. In 110 FE they began their career as a group of pirates who terrorized the seas. Due to the constraints of the Kaldos Rebellion, the Empire often took out their endeavors when possible but could never completely crush the Doomed Kin. Headed by the notorious criminal Capt. Lage, they were a force to be reckoned that lead to the bolstering of the Naval Forces in the Empire. Ships under the dominion of Captain Lage sailed under one banner. However, beyond their fealty, they were an extremely uncohesive group with their own ambitions and objectives. All ships in the Doomed Kin Fleet even made it a point to never remain in one solid group. Many surmise this is in case a flotilla were destroyed, there would still be others to continue the business anew. In the years after the Kaldos Rebelion mercenary groups would be hired by Nobles and Merchants sent to pursue the Doomed Kin, but often this often had to opposite effect as many would join the Doomed Kin's ranks. Captain Lage Had also become a bit of a celebrity. Accruing the second highest bounty in the empire’s history, he collected a long list of crimes and epithets. He was, for the longest time, the undisputed King of Pirates up until his death. Among those who were part of Captain Lage's crew, they were known for carrying a unique type of coin. This became known as the Doom Currency, due to the trademark skull and crossbones on both sides. If one were to spin the coin on its side, the skull and crossbones would appear as though it were laughing.Capt. Lage's most common toast.

- Take on jobs that involved playing merchants against each other.
- Live free and take no shit.
Disbandment
Organization died when Capt. Lage died. His death came not at the hands of another but from disease. He died suddenly and without being able to name a successor. Due to this his many pirate commanders feuded and broke off into their own groups, forming the pirate groups that would come to plague to empire for the next decade or so.
