Professor Irwin
The epitome of the rugged outdoorsman, Professor Irwin teaches Outdoor Studies at his mud hole in Myyradin Forest with his trusty dog Trofaz.
This course prepares students in becoming survivalists, big game hunters (unintentionally), wildlife conservationists, zoologists, mountaineers, surveyors, animal breeders & off-the-grid independents.
Irwin's mindset represents the minimalistic lifestyle that requires the bare essentials we humans actually need to live compared to vanities we've convinced ourselves we need for our survival.
Irwin is the only teacher at Houndsmoth who doesn't teach or even live inside Houndsmoth Manor. All his classes are held outside in his home-made pit inside Myyradin Forest with his Karelian Bear Dog named Trofaz.
He's a staunch conservationist who doesn't kill animals for fun, sustenance or even for food. Instead, foraging for plants in the forest and taming any wild animal he comes across in the cursed forest.
Irwin is polite, gentle, and very approachable to his students, even if his lack of social graces like remembering to walk on all fours and forgetting to wear clothes put several of them off.
As for his colleagues, Irwin attends their meetings out of obligation and tends to keep to himself. If he does interact with any of the other professors outside of these staff meetings, Irwin spends it with Professor Serena. He would help Serena collect herbs in the forest. His animalistic nature reminding the Medical Professions teacher of her days as a druidic healer in the forest.
However, Irwin does have a savage side that creeps out during his lectures. And just because he refuses to eat animals doesn't mean he won't attack/maim them to show dominance over the other creatures of the forest.
In Season 2, Irwin would continue his classes outside. However, he was forced to live and have office hours inside Houndsmoth Manor.
During Houndsmoth:
In this course, Irwin teaches his students how to survive out in the wilderness surrounded by wild animals without any supplies.
