Brian Medel

BIOGRAPHY

Brian Medel rose through the ranks to become the steward of Windhelm. He always had a head for business and culture. As a son to wealthy merchants he was expected to marry for a business alliance and always was close to where the coin is. In order to flee from that future he went into the Night's Watch. As his parents are one of the greatest sponsors of the bishopric of Windhelm, William Longblade noticed his potential to lead the chapter of Okara. 
It is rumoured Brian didn't just flee into the Night's Watch to escape from his parent's expectations, but also to escape marriage to a woman. Although it is not spoken out loud, it is said that Brian is a homosexual. What is known however, is that he has very good relations with Appius Angelos. He often stays at the Grand Duke's palace in Lutetia, abandoning Okara for months on end.
Under his reign Okara has been change into a large resting post for passing traders. It is home to many inns and pleasure houses, while the ruins of the former castle have been turned into large stables for the caravan protections. 

Skills

Brian is a gifted mathematician, economist and bookkeeper. Apart from that he is gifted in many games, like chess and cards, and several instruments. 

PERSONALITY

Although Brian is a gifted mathematician and trader, he much more enjoys a life of hedonism over one of a industrious bookkeeper. As a child he was steeped in the teachings of Innos by his parents, but with his rebellion agains them, he also turned, privately at least, from their faith. In the open he still presents himself as a devout follower of the god of Justice, if only to improve his standing in Myrtana.
