Mournhold

The Metropolis of Mournhold lay at the westernmost reach of the Kingdom of Asgarnia. As its only settlement beyond the Dragontail mountains Mournhold has always been susceptible to influences from the outside. In the year 1414 the city was sieged and eventually conquered by the orc magician Azhidal and his host from Nordmarian orcs. This completely shook the city and many of its inhabitants became slaves of the new orc realm of Tulbuk.
The city was known for its markets and merchant elites before its fall in 1414. Spices and silk from the Asgarnian Kingdom were traded here for products of the Yokuda empire and the Westfork. The merchant elites also dabbled in several mythical cults that held a strong presence in the city. Most notorious among them the Mythic Dawn, a cult which was dedicated to the Daedra Mehrunes Dagon, Lord of Destruction.
Since the conquest of the city by the Nordmarian orcs it has become the hub of the orc might in the region. From here armies are sent forth against the Adamantine fortress or the Yokuda Gate of the Lily.
