Nordic Kingdoms

The Nordic kingdoms form a federation of kingdoms under one High King. These kingdoms are situated on the cold, icy, northern coasts of the bay of Ran-Aegir. Because of their close distance to Nordmar the history of the Nordic Kingdoms has been riddled with orc invasions. In years long past, Windhelm was also founded as a nordic kingdom, still visible in the city's architecture. In fact, the Nordic Kingdoms have launched attempted invasions of the Westfork at several occasions.   In recent years most of the kingdoms have been overrun by an invasion of Necrolords in the wake of Hokan Asir's ascension. The remaining Northerners have retreated behind the river Var, using it as a natural defensive line against the undead onslaught coming from Sovngarde.

The Kingdoms

There used to be seven kingdoms, although, as stated above, several have fallen into ruin.
  • Orotheim, On the vulcanic island of Orotheim lies the remote kingdom of Orotheim. The people of Orotheim have adopted the Dragon Cult into their life and are renowned Dragon Slayers and students of the Thu'um.
  • Berk, Although the smallest kingdom among them, the warriors of Berk can pack quite a punch in the frontline when led by their legendary chief Stoic the Vast.
  • Dunhagen, The ports of Dunhagen are the center of trade in the Nordic Kingdoms. The city has especially focused on trade with Windhelm.
  • Yormar, The fortresses of Yormar now stand as the frontline against the undead menace. Its king has accepted many Nordic refugees among his ranks.
  • Dingwall, The once proud bulwarks of Dingwall had stood against many an orc horde and bested it. The undead proved too much for these stout northerners however, and its lands lie abandoned.
  • Norfolk, The Norfolkian longboats were the scourge of Ran-Aegir, but its docks now lie empty. This once proud harbour has fallen to the undead.
  • Storfolk, Storfolk was the seat of the High King, but due to its close proximity to Sovngarde, it could not hold the undead waves of.

We have weathered the frost, now tremble before us.
