I feel like I gave a good overview so far. he is very cynical and "glass half empty" kind of person now. That he focuses more on work more than anything now (for years now). That he is very gruff. That he did have a rough childhood but he is now ok with money.PRIMARY TRAITS

Rough childhood. Dad was abusive when he saw Arthur. They were a poor family and the Father always worked a lot to make ends meet. He would snap at Arthur a lot because he was under a lot of stress. Mom was kind and cared for Arthur but died when Arthur became a teenager. This caused Arthur's dad to start drinking more, hanging out with women, and never coming home to feed\care for Arthur. After his mother died Arthur became a lot more independent, where he would eventually move out at the age of 18. However, as a kid Arthur loved hearing stories about mysteries from his Mom and he always wanted to solve them. He'd play pretend detective in the yard and would always go down to the town's police station and watch them work.CAREER
Arthur is a detective. He's wanted to do this since he was a child, like mentioned before, because his mom would tell Arthur mysteries. He would play detective in the yard. He would also go down to the local police station and watch them work on cases. Before going private, he worked at the police station for a while. He would eventually leave and start his own detective agency. Day to day life involves looking at cases and deciding where to go in order to solve them (along with taking any personal or mail-in requests from people). Work in the field consists of talking to suspects/people, interrogation, finding clues, and solving the case. No real combat has happened in the field but he's not typically opposed to combat. Along with his day to day detective work, he does not shy away from drinking and smoking on the job. Arthur is happy with his job, but the death of his wife has really over shadowed that happiness now and Arthur kind of just moves along with no particular like or dislike toward his job.BELIEFS
Arthur doesn't really believe in any sort of God or religion. Thinks it's mostly made up or fake. He doesn't really believe in the afterlife or spirits either. He's a little more on the fence about those though because he personally hasn't encountered/experienced anything regarding that.MOTIVATIONS
- Discovery/Adventure - To explore, uncover mysteries, and pioneer: I feel like this is a good motive for my detective (I couldn't find a better one to use as a primary motivation). The reason behind this is to find the answers behind mysteries and solve cases. If he's asked to do so, he wants to do what he can to solve the desired case.
- Tranquility - to live a life with minimal conflict or disturbance: I like this one because I'd like Arthur to be someone who solves cases but ultimately I want him to desire a peaceful life in the end. That maybe solving these cases will let him rest easy at night or have him be more happy in life.
FAST FACTS
- Accomplishment most proud of: Although building up his detective agency (many years ago) to point where he can do it for a living and support his then wife was a good accomplishment, I would say his most proud accomplishment was finding/marrying his wife.
- Most ashamed about: The life he has now. He knows that all the drinking, smoking, and depression is bad but he doesn't do anything about it. He just kind of moves along with his life.
- Fears more than anything: That he has turned into his father (more or less). He is turning into the man he once hated.
- Secrets kept: That he sometimes wishes he could just die so he could be with his wife.
- Last time they wept: Wife's death + some times after. Arthur took it very hard but soon threw himself into his own work
RELATIONS
- Friends: Not many friends besides the few he employs at the detective agency. They would describe him as "rough around the edges" or someone more of the "lone wolf" kind of person.
- Romance: They were married to their wife. Once she died, he never found anyone again. He kind of just sticks to his work and doesn't think about romantic interests.
- Role Model: He looked up to people in detective stories or people at the police station as he grew up but as of now, nobody.
MEMENTO
So the small bottle of perfume from his wife is very special. It's only thing left of her he has. He got it for her for a birthday gift (her birthday right before she passed away from illness). She was extremely sick and didn't leave the house much (to use the perfume) but she treasured it. She kept it on her nightstand at night and always put some on in bed. It means a lot to my character because it is the last thing he has that belonged to his wife and that since it meant so much to her, it means so much to him now.ADVANTAGE
It is a picture of the the two of them from some years back (when they were younger). It reminds him to stay strong in dark times. His wife would always remind him to stay strong. She knew that her time was limited and all she could do was remind her husband to stay strong. It gives my character benefit because every time he stares at it, he is reminded of how strong his wife was and how much he loved her. That now he must be strong without her.EQUIPMENT
