Lottie Doofner is the an old hermit who wanders the
The Swamp and who most folks think went a little mad. Somedays it's little old Lottie with a high pitched voice, other days it's Lonnie, who speaks in a deep baritone. They are known to come into town on occasion for food and clothing, confusing those not accustomed to their mannerisms.
Adolph Bogardus of the general store is very patient with her and routinely undercharges her for her goods.
Lottie often seems astounded by the progress that our town makes down the path of industrialization each time she wanders back. Lottie lives in a tiny shack deep in the swamp and has helped plenty of people who got turned around as they know the place like the back of their hand. Lottie always has a snack on them too, usually dried fruits and nuts.
Lottie has made the occasional traveler uncomfortable with their insistence on eating the food that they have given in front of them, and how they are visibly relieved once their guest relents and eats a little. It is hard to know the reasoning for this behavior, if there is one to begin with, but that's just Lottie. Lottie has been around Munson for longer than many can remember, and seems to understand some of the more strange happenings around town, if you choose to believe them that is.
History
Bernard got a bit turned around and stuck in the swamp while he was traveling through it. Luckily Lottie found him and helped him get to town, all the while exchanging stories seeing their lifestyle is really similar. They enjoyed each other's company, and that understanding look in her eyes is a warmth he hasn't felt in quite a while.

History
Bernadette was drawn to Munson's swamp immediately upon arriving, and it's no surprise that she also immediately got lost. Lottie rescued her and seems to have taken an interest in her wellbeing, always bringing her food and encouraging her to eat more. Bernadette appreciates her help and the knowledge she has of the area, but is unsure what to think of their relationship.
History
Nancy does everything in her power to avoid Mx. Doofner. It isn't that the two of them have an outspoken rivalry, but rather that Nancy cannot stand the manner in which they behave. They act as though they are completely senile, speaking in odd voices and forcing people to eat. Nancy rather stay as far away from them and their strange mannerisms as possible, and as luck would have it, she has succeeded on that front for quite some time.
