Dijiva, the source of worlds

The Bearer, The Egg-Laying

the egg-laying primordial being

According to the Vopa, in the beginning was Dijiva, a large being full of eggs that contained hundreds of worlds inside. When Dijiva lays an egg, the worlds inside the eggs cannibalize each other until the strongest remains to create life.

Divine Domains

Dijiva exists outside of time and space. It is an entity that has no beginning or end, but has always existed, and is reponsible for the creation of all. The world that the Vopa live in is not the only one: each egg that Dijiva lays contains the possibilities for all arrangements of life, most unimaginable to even the most dedicated Vopa scholars.

Holy Books & Codes

Speculations onto the nature of Dijiva make up part of the general body of Vopan texts. There are some scholars that maintain that there is a source of Dijiva and that there are other entities like it, and others believe that it is a futile and almost blasphemous effort to come to that conclusion. These dialectical texts are preserved in Yalisi along with the stone tablets that make up the Parasoza.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The most common representation of Dijiva is as a round creature with eight legs and eight eyes with many circles representing the eggs.

Holidays

The New Year is heralded as the anniversary of the world hatching from the egg and is celebrated with a long holiday of rest and prayer. Many converts far from Yalisi make the pilgrimage around this time, as the weather is also pleasant.
