Levegi

the owner of Labu

Levegi was a silversmith who claimed ownership over the island of Labu after escaping from debt-collectors and irate customers, unhappy with the quality of the silver and poor craftsmanship. Over time, she earned a reputation for her beauty and built up a dedicated population of petty criminals who lived on her lands under her protection from the laws and regulations that governed the main Yalisi island. Through their generous donations, Levegi became extremely rich and developed her own trade relationships with the Vesisape Yalisi communities on the mainland. She came to an untimely death when one of her lovers poisoned her with mercury after she failed to convert to the Vopa religion.
