Merefolk

Merefolk live in very deep oceans or seas. They do not have feet, but rather a tail. They sometimes come into conflict with Triton. They rarely come into contact with Sea Elves because Sea Elves tend to live in shallower waters.
They tend to be less then friendly to other aquatic races - prefefring to isolate in the oceans.  They are teritorial and they often are agressive in expanding their kingdoms.
In order to come onto land they must use magic to either change their shape to have feet or be able to fly.  Thus, they have rarely ever gone onto land.
