Renn Pierson was friends with Efen Irenloc and Flene Smith, growing up in Grenndale. When she was blamed for Efen's crimes and to be executed by Imperial authorities in Grenndale, the Steel Eye intervened and rescued her. She has since died aiding the Resistance forces in Godminver.

Unbeknownst to Efen Irenloc, her two closest friends had long been more than friends. Flene joined the Imperial military to earn the money he needed to give them a "proper" wedding when Renne was killed fighting alongside the Resistance.
