The Protectors from this mission never returned to Atlantis and no search party sent after them was able to find any sign of them nor of the monster the report spoke of. Still rumors about giant sea serpents remain. These stories are told both by those who live under the sea and those who sail it, but not many have survived seeing one so most do not believe these creatures exist.

Anatomy

The Kitea have been described as huge serpents with tentacles and a huge head, featuring features of several different sea creatures. Details vary quite a lot, but all agree that these monsters a huge and have a lot of teeth

Ecology and Habitats

The Kiteas seem to house in the deepest cavities of the ocean where no others survive (maybe also because of the giant sea serpent living there, who knows?), only coming to the surface to hunt and eat.
