Possumfolk
Native to the island of Possumia in the Shimmering Sea, Possumfolk are a species of organisms that appear to be anthropomorphic opossums. All Possumfolk share most physical features with standard opossums, however they diverge in body shape, size, and mobility. Possumfolk are able to speak Possumtongue and are resistant to the cold.

Possumfolk mate and reproduce like normal opossums and cannot reproduce with other species.
Ecology and Habitats
Native to the island nation of Possumia, Possumfolk are rarely seen outside of the Shimmering Sea. Although they have genetic resistance to the cold, they prefer warmer climates.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Possumfolk have increased vision capabilities in darkness. Due to the dilation of their pupils, their eyes may appear to "glow" in the dark.

Common Etiquette Rules
Possumfolk are very prudish and believe that order is the key to happiness. Common etiquette includes the use of honorifics, speaking only when spoken to, and not discussing "vulgar" matters in public.
Common Dress Code
Due to their prudish and puritanical lifestyles, Possumfolk maintain a strict dress code. One must never show skin below the neck and always dress in drab black, grey, or white as to not bring attention to oneself.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Possumfolk celebrate the Winter Holiday of the Possumian Harvest. During this celebration they have a bountiful feast in the center of town and bestow thanks upon one another for actions performed during that year. At the end of the festival, their is a ritualistic sacrifice of a detained criminal. This is meant to ward off evil spirits during Winter months.
History
No one knows how the Possumfolk were created, their origins largely a mystery. Their humble society is very reclusive and many Possumfolk choose to seek a more puritanical life on their native island of Possumia. Possumfolk have not engaged in any major wars or conflicts within Mythologica history, however many defectors from Possumia have become fearsome pirates that have plagued many nations in the Shimmering Sea.
