Kildonagh

A beautiful land of twisted, gnarled forests and swamps, Kildonagh is a kingdom originally made up of Celtic deities. However, as time has progressed, Kildonagh has become a haven for Mythologica's outcasts and strays, many of whom flock to the kingdom for their fair and tolerant laws, low crime rates, and kind people.

Ecosystem

The wildlife of Kildonagh is abundant and diverse. Mammals like deer, bears, raccoons, and squirrels navigate the forests and wetlands while birds like ravens, hawks, and crows keep watch from the sky. An invasive species of bullfrog has recently been growing in number throughout the nation, however sightings have been most prominent in the Sheskin Swamp. Rumor has it that there are no snakes in Kildonagh...

Localized Phenomena

The Sheskin Swamp is massive and unique to Kildonagh. It has the peculiar trait of alternating the normal day/night cycle so that normal daytime becomes night within the swamp. Locals say that this was the result of a curse casted by an angry druid, but who can really say for sure.   Furthermore, there have been sightings throughout history of Cernunnos: legendary Celtic deity of the woods and protector of Sheskin swamp. Whether Cernunnos is real or not is up for debate. Likewise, if Cernunnos is real, whether or not it is a sentient deity or simply a powerful beast is likewise debatable. Most sightings seem to describe it as an excessively large deer/goat/bear creature with shimmering green eyes.

History

Kildonagh is often regarded as a backwater by the other kingdoms of Mythologica. It's forests are too feral and it's people too rough for "polite society". As such, Kildonagh has abstained from every war in Mythologica, preferring to remain neutral and independent. Without allies or enemies, the kingdom of Kildonagh marches to the beat of it's own drum. This alternative energy has attracted many defectors from across Mythologica and has also sealed Kildonagh as a prime vacation destination for individuals wishing to experience something "different".
