Yparxis, also known as The Elder One, The Reacher, and The Betrayer, is the God of the Distant Realms. He is the most powerful of the twelve deities and was banished from the Material Plane by the combined powers of the Eleven. He is the Father of all aberrant creatures and the architect of all planes of existence aside from the Prime Material and Itherea.

During the Great Formation, Yparxis grew uninterested with the affairs of the Material Plane. He left the Eleven to their own devices, choosing instead to construct Branches of Reality. These otherworldly planes of existence were separate but connected to the Prime Material, creating a vast web of unpredictable domains of his power. Among these planes were the elemental planes, such as fire, water, air, and more, the feywilds, the underdark, the Nel, and many more.

His power continued to grow with each new Branch of Reality. As the other gods grew envious and fearful of his strength, they worked together to banish him. The ensuing conflict became known as The Calamity, and the Twelve became the Eleven after decades of intense struggle. When the gods went on to create mortal creatures, Yparxis created his own followers to fill the planes he had constructed. From his hands came forth powerful primordials, tricky fey, terrifying aberrations, and many others. As a show of force, he even copied the Prime Material exactly, crafting a mirror dimension known as the Ethereal Plane. In the centuries leading up to The Silence, there were many mortals who managed to contact Yparxis. They became acolytes of him, building a new religion known as The Elder Church. These followers were widely shunned when they tried to spread their patron's word. When the Eleven learned that their mortal creations were speaking with Yparxis, they grew fearful of what the consequences of such contact could be. Their fears were proven to be justified later on in an event called the Underbirth, when The Elder Church opened a rift between the Far Realm and Ethereal Planes and the Prime Material, allowing thousands of aberrant monsters to flood in and begin wreaking havoc. What ensued was little short of a crusade, and those who helped the banished god were dealt with swiftly, although that rift still remains. In response, Cadros created Cave Dwarves to help serve as a first line of defense against these creatures. All remaining beasts have been pushed back into the Underdark. Now, mere mention of Yparxis could draw suspicion and bring ruin upon those bold enough to seek him.
