Lizardfolk Species in Myzelis | World Anvil

Lizardfolk

Lizardfolk are semi-aquatic reptilian humanoids. Their skin is covered in scales and varied in color from dark green through to shades of brown and gray. Taller than humans and powerfully built, lizardfolk are often between 6 and 7 feet tall and weighed between 200 and 250 pounds.

Eslaiqi Lizardfolk

Descendants of the Southern Peaks: The lizardfolk of the southern reaches of Urvorsath have much in common with their more draconic cousins to the north. Also known as Tanin, this species are known for their ever present tails and are typically confused for the more scholarly Tanin of the north who reside within Illhum. Tending to resemble reptiles of their marshy forest homes in Grippreed Swamp, they have adapted to the harder living conditions there. They are remarkable craftspeople, priding themselves on the use of a whole creature into a number of useful items. They have also adapted to the Cracklands with ease, opting to learn to swim rather than build bridges, hold their breath longer rather than stalk through bushes, and bite with fang rather than imported blade. The Southern Tanin are in a league of their own, and are of the most numerous people to populate the swamps.

Gylidder Lizardfolk

Scales of the Delta: Between industrious Kor, and Asheido, the city of the dead, runs the River Waedden. At the point where it meets the Binding Sea it spreads out over the saturated landscape, filling the earth with pools of relatively warm water that steam off into the chilled coast air in great plumes of fog. Outside of Ormtona and Kor, this area is one of the few places on the island where trading can occur without paying fees to secure passage into or through the Inland Sea. The lizardfolk here have a robust trading outpost - called Gradissa Fen - comprised almost entirely of stilt-heightened buildings and large bridges over the deeper channels, and they specialize in taking goods upriver and across the lowlands back to Gylidd Syn Aethri for reasonable fees. Their leader always takes the title 'Goldscale,' and is believed to be the one lizardfolk in each generation whose temperament and skills most closely resemble Gradis, the first merchant of the delta. Currently their leader is Goldscale Chexoakazi, an ascetic with great patience and a fair hand.

Verberan Lizardfolk

The Xiekivi of Okarthel: In no way a traditional city, the settlement of Okarthel is where the xiekivi within the Aesthrumm Confederacy reside. By far the smallest group within the confederacy, the xiekivi of Okarthel provide important information about the wilder regions of Consilium, acting as a first line of defense to the confederacy. The current chieftain is a massive xiekivi known as Ouk, and under her leadership, the xiekivi have begun questioning how much they really need the other cities for survival. Indeed, most other members of the Confederacy envy the xiekivi for their wealth of natural resources while remaining wary of their Incari-worship. Unbeknownst to most, a civil war has broken out within Okarthel. The Sjach, the xiekivi spy network, has fractured into two groups. One remains loyal to the Confederacy, while the other follows Ouk blindly towards what they see as a brighter future.
