Gylidd features two major coastal harbor cities ruled by “Merchant Lords,” self-styled nobility that swear their fealty to the people of Gylidd via the government, with highly variable standards of patriotism. Ormtona is the northernmost of the two, and sits at the seaward end of the upper Grand Canal. Although arguably most of the city’s citizens live off of meager stipends, this city prides itself on being higher class, heavily featuring museums, restaurants, and performing arts centers for all classes. The Twelve Clams, one of the most famous restaurants in Gylidd - if not the whole world - can be found on the Ormtonan waterfront. Its waiting list is longer than an entire season. The architecture of this city is a pleasant blend of pretense and wit, drawing from inspiration across the entirety of the known world while maintaining certain balanced colors based on each district to prevent garish spectacle.
