Also known informally as "the Lick" by local fishers, Lyfu is one of the best places to catch fresh and saltwater fish in all of Gylidd. It features an incredible amount of migratory runs nearly year round as they flock to the Tafod River for spawning. Old salts in the area use the phrase "Gwych ych lyfu naw tagan tafod" (which translates to "Watch the lick or you'll catch the tongue") when mocking the less experienced, referring to the way the powerful salmon and sturgeons will surge up out of the water and knock the unwary overboard.
