Colloquially known as Gylidd Island to distinguish it from its eponymous city and nation, Gylidd (GYIL-id) is a major island and Realm some 300 miles across, accessible mainly from the northwest and southwest. The western edge, and entire eastern half, of the island are covered in the Brume of Vrokíva. Its overall climate is temperate and mostly forested, with a rainforest in the north and cold plains to the south. The island is bisected by a single massive mountain range that runs north to south. This range is separated in the middle by the metropolis of Gylidd Syn Aethri, the largest city on the island.
