75 miles southwest of Sydathria, the village of Sarcomant is one of the villages within the province of Pervenire. With a population of about 750 people, this town is responsible for a large share of the lumber that is transported to Sydathria and out of Verbera. Unfortunately, it has garnered a bad reputation. Ever since a cult was exposed and deposed, people have seen Sarcomant as a place where dark magics can go unnoticed.
The cult known as the Children of the Dark Goat were active and unknown for over a year, and were responsible for the ritualistic sacrifice of at least ten people, burying the bodies in the woods outside the village. The cult has since been eliminated by College Spellswords, though the presence has left the villagers fearful of each other.
Near the village is a section of woods that has been claimed by the fey. Unsure of the exact area that has been claimed or what the penalty for going near this plot of land might be, no one goes near that section of the forest for fear of death or worse.
